Maggie Barlow

I live in Lutterworth, where I have a small studio. In 2009 I completed a BA (Hons) in Fine Art at De Montfort University. During my degree course I started to explore abstraction in painting. My current work is inspired by nature, particularly coastal and rock scenery and detail, and I use my own photographs as source material, but my paintings are essentially abstract, and I develop the work by instinct and experimentation as I go along. 

I also love to photograph enigmatic or abstract images. I use software packages only minimally, for tidying up images and balancing light and colour.
